Homestay Rescue: Role-play

A pair role-play lesson: one student plays the guest and another plays the host. Choose a situation and act out a short conversation together.

How to play

Work in pairs: one student is the guest and one is the host. Read the situation, plan briefly, then speak for 3–4 turns. Use the hints if needed. Reveal an example after trying, then swap roles. Add a twist for a harder second round.

These are situations to discuss, not rules for every household. Ask your own host family about their routines. You may invent details or skip a situation.

Round 1: choose who plays the student and the host.
